Impiego di prodotti biologici nel processo di guarigione delle lesioni cutanee

La ricerca nel settore chimico e tecno-farmacologico ha permesso l’utilizzo di dispositivi medici a base di prodotti biologici nelle diverse fasi del processo di riparazione tessutale delle ferite acute e croniche. L’olio di neem e di iperico, l’aloe vera, gli acidi grassi essenziali vengono applicati sulla lesione solo dopo aver rimosso il tessuto non vitale e in assenza di biofilm e/o infezione. Il miele, invece, viene impiegato nella fase del debridement grazie alle sue proprietà biologiche-naturali e alla capacità di richiamare acqua dai tessuti circostanti la lesione permettendo così il distacco del tessuto non vitale dal letto di lesione (debridement autolitico). In presenza di biofilm o infezione della lesione il solo debridement indicato è quello chirurgico. Lo studio ha valutato la possibilità di utilizzare le proprietà autolitiche del miele su lesioni anche in presenza di biofilm o infezione locale, dimostrando come tale utilizzo sia possibile specie nei pazienti in cui il debridement chirurgico è controindicato.
